CNBC Interview: Eric Vanraes on French elections, European bond markets and ECB policy

EI Sturdza fixed income portfolio manager, Eric Vanraes, appeared on CNBC Squawk Box to discuss the upcoming French elections, market outlook in Europe and the likelihood of a near-term bond rally.  

Touching upon the French Presidential elections, Eric Vanraes, who manages EI Sturdza’s Strategic Euro Bond Fund, Strategic Global Bond Fund and Strategic Quality Emerging Bond Fund, highlighted the nuanced nature of the upcoming election cycles in France and the importance of the National Assembly elections.

He also discusses US markets and the fading nature of the ‘Trump Trade’. In a recent market insights post, he pointed towards the possibility of two more rate hikes this year by the US Federal Reserve in light of stronger than expected economic data.
